Body Surgery & Treatments
Post-bariatric body contouring refers to a range of surgical procedures that may be considered to address excess skin and residual tissue after significant weight loss. These procedures may be performed for functional concerns (such as skin irritation or hygiene difficulties) and/or to adjust body contour. Surgical planning is individualised and may involve staged procedures. A consultation is required to assess suitability and to discuss expected changes and limitations, scarring, risks, recovery, and alternatives.
An extended tummy tuck (extended abdominoplasty) is a body contouring procedure used to address excess skin and soft tissue across the abdomen and extending towards the hips and flanks (and in some cases further around the lower back). It is most commonly considered after significant weight loss or pregnancy-related changes where skin laxity is not improved through non-surgical measures. The goals are to improve contour and, in selected patients, support comfort by reducing skin fold-related issues. A consultation is required to confirm suitability and surgical planning.
Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that alters the size and/or shape of the labia minora (inner labial folds) and, in selected cases, may involve the labia majora (outer labial folds). People seek assessment for a range of reasons, including physical symptoms (such as irritation or friction) or concerns about appearance. It’s important to note that labial anatomy varies widely and is often normal. A consultation is required to confirm whether surgery is appropriate, discuss alternatives, and explain expected limitations, scarring, risks, recovery, and costs.
A belt lipectomy (also called a lower body lift or circumferential body lift) is a major surgical procedure that addresses excess skin and soft tissue around the entire lower torso—typically the abdomen, flanks/hips, lower back and, in some cases, the buttock region. It is most commonly considered after significant weight loss when skin laxity causes functional concerns (such as recurrent irritation) and/or when a person is seeking improvement in overall contour. Outcomes vary and a consultation is required to determine suitability.
